- I am designated as a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO), Tactical Action Officer (TAO), Officer of the Deck (OOD), Afloat Training Specialist (ATS) and Naval Operational Planner, which means I am not only qualified to operate and fight warships, but also have had the pleasure of training and certifying others to do the same when not otherwise engaged in staff planning at the operational level of war.
